What we do.
For over 100 years, we’ve been supporting our clergy and serving our West Australian community as best we can.
From assisting the elderly, the impoverished and the vulnerable, to supporting religious vocation, parish projects and developing leadership potential in young Catholics, we’ve taken great joy in providing relief for families, strengthening the Church, serving our wider community, and celebrating our faith together as a group.
Here’s a snapshot of how we’ve served the Church and community since 1920:
1922:
First meeting with Archbishop Clune
1954:
Pioneering a Parents and Friends Association
We establish a Federation of parent groups supporting their local Catholic schools to represent all parents and caregivers in negotiations with the State and Commonwealth governments. It remains a vital voice in the WA Catholic school system.
1966:
Establishing Southern Cross Care (WA)
We establish Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc. which provides a range of services including residential aged care, home care, retirement living, respite, health and wellness services, community housing, mental health and disability support.
1987:
Creating Monsignor O’Reilly Fund for Vocations and Seminarians
We establish this fund to provide support to those with a religious vocation, with a special focus on seminarians.
1992:
Creating the KSC Education Foundation
We establish the KSC Education Foundation, which funds scholarships in Theology and Education at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle and Broome.
1995:
Creating the KSC Charitable Foundation
We establish the KSC Charitable Foundation to help relieve poverty and distress to families and individuals in each of the Catholic Dioceses in WA.
1996:
Supporting the Overseas Aid Fund (OFEC)
We provide generous sponsorship and an administrative base for OFEC, which grants scholarships to students in need in Vietnam. This support continues for 25 years, until 2021.
2004:
Restoring St Mary’s Cathedral, Perth
The Order assisted the Archdiocese of Perth in 2012 with their restoration project for St Mary’s Cathedral.
2005:
Rebuilding St Patrick’s Cathedral, Bunbury
We provided support to help rebuild this historic Cathedral after a tornado strikes Bunbury, ensuring it can serve as a place of worship for future generations.
2013:
Restoring St Francis Xavier Cathedral, Geraldton
We start a 20-year project for children living in the outback, ensuring they receive religious education during the summer holidays.
2014:

We provided support to the Chair, whose valuable work addresses the issue of chronic pain in the wider community.
